Why financial education matters for older adults.

Viskento was built on a straightforward observation: millions of Argentine adults reach retirement age without the tools to navigate the financial system they depend on every day.

Four principles that guide everything we do.

Genuine Accessibility

Financial literacy should not be available only to those who already have resources or education. Our workshops are structured so that anyone can follow along, regardless of their starting point. We do not assume prior knowledge of any kind.

Argentine Context

The Argentine financial system has its own characteristics: how ANSES works, what a CBU is, how inflation affects savings, what a plazo fijo involves. Generic financial education does not address these. Viskento does.

No Commercial Agenda

We are an educational platform. We do not sell products, earn commissions, or steer participants toward any financial service. The only outcome we pursue is that participants leave more informed than when they arrived.

Autonomy as the Goal

Every workshop is designed to reduce dependence — on family members who interpret bank statements, on intermediaries who explain pension payments, on strangers who offer financial products. Understanding is the path to independence.

A gap that affects daily life.

For many older adults, a visit to the bank is a source of anxiety. Account statements arrive and sit unread. Pension payment dates are uncertain. When someone calls offering a financial opportunity, there is no framework to evaluate whether it is trustworthy.

These are not failures of intelligence. They are the direct result of a lifetime without access to financial education. The Argentine school curriculum historically did not include practical financial literacy, and for many people now in their 60s, 70s, and beyond, that gap remains.

Viskento's workshops fill that gap. Not with theory, but with practical, applicable knowledge grounded in everyday Argentine financial life.

Educators with a clear purpose.

Our facilitators bring a combination of financial knowledge and genuine commitment to making that knowledge accessible.

Curriculum and Logistics

Our coordinators develop the curriculum, organize sessions, and ensure that every workshop is structured to meet participants where they are — not where a textbook assumes they should be.

Outreach and Support

We work with community organizations and local networks in San Juan to reach people who could benefit from our workshops. Our advisors ensure that access is as broad as possible.
