Workshops built for real financial life in Argentina.

Each program focuses on a specific area of financial knowledge that older adults encounter regularly. They can be attended individually or as a sequence.

Workshop Programs

Older adults in a banking education workshop, reviewing printed bank documents together
Module 1

How the Argentine Banking System Works

This workshop demystifies the Argentine banking system from the ground up. Participants learn what a savings account is, how a CBU works, how to read a monthly account statement, what a debit card does, how bank transfers are made, and what to do when something on a statement seems incorrect. No prior experience with banks is assumed. The session uses printed examples from real Argentine bank documents.

Module 2

Organizing Pension and Retirement Income

Argentina's jubilación and pensión system has specific rules about payment dates, adjustment schedules, and what different benefit types mean. This workshop explains how the ANSES system works, how to verify your benefit amount, and practical methods for organizing monthly expenses around a fixed income. Participants learn to plan ahead and understand what changes in their payments mean.

2-session module Small group Printed materials
Workshop participants examining printed examples of financial offers and identifying warning signs together
Module 3

Recognizing Risky Financial Proposals

This workshop focuses on one of the most practically important skills: knowing when something does not add up. Participants examine real examples of financial offers, phone scripts, and written proposals. They learn what questions to ask, which institutions to consult, and how to verify whether a financial entity is legitimately registered with the Banco Central de la República Argentina. The session also covers common patterns in financial fraud targeting older adults.

3-session module Small group Printed materials

Module 4

Financial Autonomy and Consumer Rights

This workshop brings together the knowledge from previous modules and focuses on decision-making. Participants learn about their rights as bank account holders, their rights as pension recipients, and what consumer protection mechanisms exist in Argentina. The session covers where to file a complaint, what the Defensoría del Consumidor does, and how to approach financial decisions without depending on intermediaries.
